Terms of Service

01/11/2023

Welcome to Meduseo. Access to and use of this website are subject to these Terms of Service (ToS).

1. Purpose of the Website

Meduseo is a collaborative information platform that allows tracking and reporting the presence of jellyfish on beaches. The service relies on the active participation of its user community and on indicative forecasting algorithms.

2. Collaborative Nature and Data Updates

The data displayed on the map mostly originates from reports submitted by users over the last 24 hours.

Since marine conditions (currents, winds, tides, water temperature) can radically alter the situation on a beach in just a few minutes, the website's information may no longer match reality at the time of your swim.

3. Limitation of Liability (Disclaimer of Warranty)

The publisher of the Meduseo website makes every effort to provide the most recent and accurate information possible, but cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies, omissions, or delays in updates.

Consequently, Meduseo disclaims all liability for any personal injury (including stings, burns, or allergic reactions caused by jellyfish), material damage, or consequential loss occurring during a swim or while visiting a beach, even if the website indicated an absence of danger.

The user agrees to use the website at their own risk and remains solely responsible for their own safety and that of individuals under their care.

4. User Obligations (Reports)

By submitting a report on Meduseo, the user agrees to provide accurate, recent, and good-faith information. Any repeated abuse or clearly false reports may result in blocking access to the reporting service.

5. Intellectual Property

The interface, graphic design, forecasting algorithms, and the "Meduseo" trademark are the exclusive property of the website publisher. Any unauthorized reproduction or exploitation is strictly prohibited.
